This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join Ranger Willis on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 7:30 pm for a night hike to Window Cliffs during the Perseid meteor shower! We will lie on the Window Cliffs and look up at the stars to see meteors passing by! This hike will end around 11 pm. The total mileage is 5.7 miles, but there will be 18 creek crossings and significant elevation change. Your feet will get wet, so be prepared. Since it is a timed event, there will not be enough time to stop at each crossing to change shoes. Please wear toe-covered shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Please bring at least 64 oz of water and snacks/dinner. The park will provide headlamps for the event, but you are welcome to bring your own. On the way back from the Window Cliffs, it will be dark, and we will stop to view meteors from on top of the cliffs and on the way back to the trailhead.
There are several park events occurring on this night. Please review all events before selecting which ones you would like to attend. If you want to do the hike and camping, you will need to register for each separately.
*** This event occurs after hours, so the entrance gate may be closed when going into Window Cliffs if you arrive early enough. A ranger should be there at 6 PM to let participants into the parking lot.***
