Description: NOLS Wilderness Medicine for the Professional Practitioner
Location: Henry Horton State Park
Henry Horton State Park is excited to host NOLS and Landmark Learning for a Wilderness Medicine for the Professional Practitioner.
On our two-day Wilderness Medicine for the Professional Practitioner course, you’ll learn to apply your existing medical knowledge in a new way to manage a patient in a wilderness, remote, or disaster setting.
You’ll learn both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments!
Prerequisites:
This course is for EMTs, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, PAs, or other medical professionals.
This course will provide 16 hours of continuing education credits for EMT professionals. The Wilderness Medical Society designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Each physician should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Lodging is available on-site via our campground, Lodge, or Cabins at an additional cost (Lodging is not covered in the course fee).
