Description: 7-Mile Loop Hike
Location: Savage Gulf State Park
Join Ranger Jamie on a 7 mile loop-hike to experience some of the beautiful overlooks in Savage Gulf. We will meet for this hike at the Savage Gulf North Trailhead by the Stone Door Ranger Station at 8:30 a.m. to begin the hike. We will begin on the 2.9 mile Laurel Trail then take the 3.2 mile Big Creek Rim trail on the way back to the great Stone Door. We will spend a short amount of time at Stone Door before heading back to the ranger station. We will take the 0.9 mile Stone Door Trail back to the Stone Door Ranger Station/Savage Gulf North Trailhead to complete the loop hike. NOTE: These trails are considered moderate; however, given the distance and terrain- please be prepared for a challenging hike.
Please make sure you have sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water and snacks, and are completely capable of completing the entire 7-mile loop. We will take frequent, short breaks as needed but will also be walking for extended periods of time during the hike.
We will hike through the ecologically diverse forestland and observe beautiful overlooks during the hike. We will chat about the park and what we see along the way. Accessory items to help you enjoy the hike such as cameras and binoculars are encouraged but not required.

NOTE: This hike is weather dependent and will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.
CANCELLATION: Cancellations must be made no later than 48 hours prior to the program's scheduled conclusion in order to receive a refund.
NOTICE: The areas around overlooks can be treacherous in terms of keeping your footing. The potential to slip and fall exists, and extreme care is needed.
