Join park staff as we explore another historic snapshot of daily life, clothing! Producing, mending, and caring for clothing took a substantial amount of time in the 19th century. While seen as a typical gender specific role, everyone in the family needed to know the skills it took to produce and mend their garments. This interactive program will explore the common methods clothes were produced, cared for, stored, and mended.
This program is recommended for adults and children interested in textiles, and how they were utilized to create historic clothing, and try their hand at various production methods. Children 15 and under must have adult supervision.
