Description: Hiwassee Hike: Lowry Falls

Join Ranger Joe at the Park Office before we drive to the Lowry Falls trailhead and hike 2 miles up to one of the gorgeous waterfalls located in the Cherokee National Forest, along the way we will see the cascades that precede the falls and enjoy the sites and sounds of a genuine wilderness area.

This Trail is not too long but is a challenging one, it is an advanced trail that mostly has steep elevation and many roots and rocks along the way. The trail is sometimes wet and has several portions that require a handhold due to being so steep. The views are worth it, but attendees should be physically capable of handling a 2 mile walk up steep mountain grade trails. In order to get a good view of the falls attendees should be able to climb up and down a chest high boulder. Please bring any equipment you may need: hiking boots, trekking poles etc., including water and snacks.
