Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park was the location of several important historic events that occurred during the 18th century. The visitor center features many interpretive exhibits that highlight the history of land as well as a reconstruction of Fort Watauga. Along with the historic exhibits, Sycamore Shoals offers hiking trails that follow the Watauga River.
