Description: Winter Tree Identification Hike

Location: Head of the Crow State Park

Looking to improve your tree identification? Winter is the hardest time of year to ID trees because of the lack of leaves, so it is a great time to challenge yourself! If you can ID trees in the winter, you can ID them year-round.

Join Ranger Allen for a 2.9-mile hike around our Sherwood Day Loop, where you will learn how to identify various tree species by their bark, buds, and twigs!

What to bring:

Appropriate winter hiking clothing and footwear.

Water and any desired snacks.

Binoculars (optional).

*Preregistration is required.
