PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: Weed Wrangle 2026

Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park

Join us on Saturday March 7th at 10:00am at the picnic tables near the Bunkum Cave Loop trailhead for our Weed Wrangle event! Registration for this event will take you to Galaxy Digital- TN State Parks Volunteer platform.

This is a one-day volunteer effort to clear non-native species from our trails. We will be clearing a section of the Storybook trail as an on-going effort to restore the pollinator garden. Equipment will be provided but feel free to bring your own Personal Protective Equipment, pruning shears, or limb loppers.

Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Don’t forget your water, snacks, and gloves if you have them! Depending on the weather you may also want to bring a hat, bug spray, and sunscreen. This event is from 10:00am to 12:00pm but you can volunteer for the amount of time that works for you.

Please find the Essential Eligibility Criteria in the pdf for this event.

In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled.
