Fort Pillow State Historic Park
Upper River Battery Hike
Saturday October 18th
Join Park Ranger at the museum at 11:00 a.m. for a hike on some of the trails that make up this park. We will also go off trail to visit a spot that is rarely seen, the upper river batteries. This area is where the 32-pound siege guns would have been placed to block of Union Artillery boats from going up and down the river. There is a $10 programming fee for this event. You must register at tnstateparks.com under Fort Pillows page, or you can call the office at 731-738-5581. So, bring some water, weather appropriate clothing, and a hiking stick if needed and come join us on the 18th.
