PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: Tricolored Bat Tree Cookie Ornament

Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park

Join us in the Park Museum to create your own tree cookie bat ornament as an early start to Bat Week!

This program is recommended for ages 8 and up. Kids 7 years and younger may participate with adult supervision and assistance.

Bunkum Cave is home to many unique species! Bats use the cave as a winter vacation home including tricolored bats. We’ll learn why it is important for Bunkum Cave to be closed during the winter while creating your own tree cookie ornament showcasing one of these beautiful animals!

During this program we will use paint and tree cookies to create your own ornament that will depict one of Bunkum Cave’s resident animals. We will chat about the importance of cave closures to these special animals while we paint. All materials will be provided by the park.

To prepare for this program, please read the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria below.

In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled.
