This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Scaly, slithery, and surprisingly secretive—reptiles are some of the most fascinating creatures found at Seven Islands State Birding Park! Join Ranger staff for a guided walk to search for snakes, lizards, and turtles while learning about their important role in the ecosystem. We’ll talk about how to identify different reptiles, their behaviors and habitats, and what to do if you encounter one in the wild.
This program is recommended for families and visitors of all ages. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 9:30 AM. Be prepared to walk about 2 miles on both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The walk will include stops along the trail to look for reptiles and discuss their adaptations and habits. Duration is approximately 2 hours.
The cost of this program is $6.00 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and sunscreen. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
