This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join Interpretive Ranger Amanda at the campfire interpretive area for an Early Sunrise Hike to White Oak Flats.
Start your Saturday morning with a guided hike to the White Oak Flats overlook before the park opens, led by Amanda. This moderate 3-mile round-trip hike offers breathtaking views of the Rocky Fork Gorge, with the sunrise illuminating Big Bald Mountain in the distance. As the day begins, listen to the chorus of birds awakening around you, and if you're lucky, you might even hear the Peregrine Falcon stirring from Whitehouse Cliffs.
Please be sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp, water, and snacks to keep energized during the hike. Well behaved dogs on a leash are also welcome.
Please remember that early mornings in Rocky Fork can be on the cooler side. Please dress appropriately/in layers.
*Please note-we will leave promptly at 4:45am, please arrive a few minutes early to ensure being on time*
