This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Start your day off right with a sunrise hike led by Seasonal Ranger Casey! We’ll trek to the highest point in the park on the Hickory Ridge Trail to enjoy panoramic views and (with a little luck) a breathtaking sunrise. Along the way, we’ll learn about some of the birds that fill the park with song in the morning hours. This is a rare chance to experience Seven Islands before it officially opens and watch the sky come to life with color. We'll also have coffee and pastries available for anyone that would like any to take with them as we hike to the sunrise!
This program is recommended for ages 10 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn by 6:00 AM. Be prepared to hike about 1 mile roundtrip with a moderately strenuous 300-foot elevation gain over unpaved trails. Check the Essential Eligibility Criteria for more details about the route and difficulty.
Bring a flashlight or headlamp for early low-light conditions, wear closed-toe shoes, and come with water and a snack. Cameras are welcome! Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
