PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: Spring Wildflower Hike 2026

Location: Rock Island State Park

Meet a Ranger at the end of Powerhouse Road and discover the Caney Fork River as it meanders to Center Hill Lake. You will see Twin Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the State of Tennessee. Explore Flowstone Falls, manage a couple creek crossings, appreciate the spring bloom, and climb stairs overlooking the entirety of the Blue Hole. Be prepared for a fun 1.6 mile round trip adventure! The Downstream Trail is one of our most scenic trails!

This hike is free, but we are accepting donations to support the park. Please arrive 10 minutes early, if possible. There are no restroom facilities in this area of the park, so it is recommended that you take care of those needs before attending the hike. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The trail tread path has large rocks, roots, and ascends the equivalent of 7 flights of stairs.

In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be cancelled, and all attendees will be notified by text message or email, so be sure to provide a good contact when signing up.

Spring into action and sign up for this hike!
