Description: Historic Market Day

Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park

Historic Market Day offers a captivating glimpse into the daily lives of sharecroppers in the 1800s. As visitors step into this immersive experience, they are transported back in time to witness the intricacies of farm life in the late 19th century.

Throughout the day, guests can observe and participate in various facets of agricultural life. From wagon repair to dyeing techniques, the event showcases the essential skills and trades that sustained families in the 19th century.

There will be a cooking demonstration throughout the day. Sue Duncan will be shearing animals to spin on her spinning wheel. We will have historical vendors selling items throughout the day.

Children are invited to engage in hands-on activities and interactive programs designed to educate and entertain. From basket weaving to historical games, there's something for everyone to enjoy at this family-friendly event.

There is no admission fee for this event. This program will occur rain or shine so prepare for the weather.
