Description: Spring Migration Birding Walk

Location: Seven Islands State Birding Park

Spring migration is one of the most exciting times of year for birding! As birds travel north to their breeding grounds, Seven Islands State Birding Park becomes an important stopover filled with colorful songbirds and active migrants. Join Ranger Clare to learn how to spot and identify migrating birds, understand why they travel such long distances, and discover the habitats they rely on during their journey.

This program is recommended for adults and families with children ages 10 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 8:00 AM. Be prepared to walk 2–3 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The hike will last approximately 3 hours, with frequent stops for observation and discussion. Binoculars are recommended; a limited number may be available to borrow.

The cost of this program is $8 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.

Please come prepared with good walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and binoculars if you have them. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
