Come hike with us and enjoy the early spring weather and wildflowers in the rare limestone glades and barrens ecosystem of Tennessee. We will see early-flowering rare plants and discuss the unique ecology and management of the area, along with efforts at the site to conserve rare plant species in Tennessee. The Natural Area supports a mosaic of forest, oak barrens, open grassland barrens, and cedar glades, including federally and state-listed plant species and glade-endemic species.
Wear sturdy shoes. Bring water and be prepared to hike over uneven terrain in places. In the event of inclement weather, registrants will be contacted by the hike leader for updates at the email address provided at registration.
Flat Rock Cedar Glades and Barrens State Natural Area does not have restroom facilities. Plan accordingly or be prepared to take care of those needs outside.
