This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join archaeologist Hannah Guidry of the Tennessee Division of Archaeology for a guided tour of the Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area, located just south of Lebanon, TN on Friday, June 13 at 10:00 AM.
Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area contains a prehistoric mound and village site occupied throughout the Mississippian period (AD 1000–1450). The tour will include information about the prehistory of the region, lifeways of prehistoric inhabitants of the site, past archaeological excavations at Sellars Farm, and other topics. The tour will last around an hour and a half and includes a one-mile hike along fairly flat terrain with some possible muddy areas depending on recent weather. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and bring their own water, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellent. There are portable toilets at the parking area where the tour begins and ends. Alternative tour date will be provided in the case of cancellation due to weather.
