This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join a ranger for a beginner-friendly ruck along the scenic Bluff Trail at Rock Island State Park. This easy-paced ~2-mile hike is perfect for anyone interested in learning the basics of rucking while enjoying beautiful views and fresh air. Bring a backpack (weighted if you’d like), water, and comfortable walking shoes. All fitness levels are welcome—come move, learn, and explore the park with a ranger!
Distance: ~2 miles
Difficulty: Easy–Moderate (natural trail surface with some roots, rocks, and elevation changes; beginner-friendly pace)
Limited weighted vests and ruck packs are available to borrow for participants traveling without equipment. Availability may vary depending on weight needs. If you would like to request equipment, please contact the park ahead of time so we can try to accommodate you.
In the event of inclement weather, the event may be cancelled, and all attendees will be notified by text message or email, so be sure to provide a good contact when signing up.
