Join SIR Emmalee in exploring the historical and social significance of fans, while looking at Rose Hull's remarkable fan collection. You can even make a fan of your own to take home!
This program is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about the history of fans and how they may have been used to express emotions and communicate.
Cordell Hull's wife, Rose Hull, was known to have a beautiful collection of fans made of different materials such as cloth, lace, paper, and ivory. Fans have a unique and fascinating history and social value. Through Rose's collection we can explore their history and value.
This event will take place in the park’s museum. All supplies will be provided by the park.
