Join Interpretive Ranger Amanda to discover the incredible mountainscapes and geology of Rocky Fork State Park on a guided roundtrip 3 mile hike to White Oak Flats Overlook! Jr. Rangers will explore how mountains are formed, learn about the rocks and natural features that shape our landscape, and enjoy breathtaking views along the trail.
A special guest speaker will join us on the hike to share fun and fascinating facts about geology, mountains, and the natural history of Rocky Fork. Lunch will be enjoyed at the overlook during our adventure.
Required Items:
• Small, manageable backpack
• Refillable water bottle
• Hiking shoes
• Appropriate outdoor clothing
Lunch will be provided for registered children only
We will be meeting at the Campfire Interpretive Area.
Drop off is between 9 - 9:30am and pick up will be promptly at 1:00pm
