Enjoy an afternoon on the beautiful Doe River learning the basics of fly fishing with Park Ranger Phil Hylen on Friday, February 27th. This event will teach participants the basics of rigging fly rods, how to choose a flies to fish with, and the basic fly casting techniques needed to land some trout along the Doe River. Participants will meet at the Roan Mountain State Park Visitor Center at 1:00PM EST and the program will conclude at 3:00PM.
This program is limited to 7 people due to supply limitations and registration is $10.00 per participant. No equipment will be need to be brought, but if you have your own gear you want to learn to use, feel free to bring it along. This is a great chance for those who participated in the Fly-tying class to try out their new flies!
