Be the first to hike our new River Gem Wetland Trail with a Ranger! This is a previously inaccessible area of the park that will take us through a rich and diverse wetland ecosystem. We will be meeting at the Visitor Center to begin the hike. We will then hike a portion of the Ballard Lake Nature Trail to the beginning of the River Gem Wetland Trail. We will then hike the River Gem Wetland Trail back to a bridge that connects us to the Ballard Lake Nature Trail, and then back to the starting point at the Visitor Center. The hike will be approximately 1.5 miles long.
Will you be the first to learn about this ecosystem's makeup and explore an area once closed to the public?
