This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join us for a fun and fascinating evening exploring the world of reptiles and amphibians! As the sun sets and the park quiets down, many of our cold-blooded neighbors begin to stir. We’ll take a short hike with Ranger Casey to search for frogs, toads, snakes, salamanders, and turtles, while learning about their unique adaptations and importance in the ecosystem. This is a great chance to experience the park at night and learn about some of our lesser-known wildlife.
Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 7:30 PM. Be prepared to walk approximately 2 miles on both paved and unpaved trails, including some uneven terrain. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will include a short talk from Ranger Casey in the classroom followed by a guided hike with plenty of opportunities for observation and questions.
The cost of this program is $10 per participant. Kids under 5 are free with a paying adult.
Please come prepared with sturdy shoes and a flashlight (red or colored lights preferred to minimize disturbance). Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals. Dress for the weather and get ready for a night full of discovery!
