This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
This summer Rock Island State Park is partnering with the Magness Library in McMinnville to host Read with a Ranger programs. This program allows the park to further establish strong community connections, and it helps remove potential accessibility barriers for youth in the surrounding area. Youth that attend all three of the Read with a Ranger programs hosted this summer will be eligible for a free pontoon ride at the end of the summer. The program encourages strong relationships between young people and Rangers while simultaneously championing childhood literacy. The second Read with a Ranger program will feature a reading of a story about how to be a Junior Ranger! Afterwards students will be given the opportunity to interact with a Rock Island ambassador animal.
