Description: Rappelling at Black Mountain
Location: Cumberland Trail State Park
Join Cumberland Trail Park Rangers Dalton Miller and Miles Garner at Black Mountain near Crossville, TN, for an introductory day of rappelling. During this event, you will have the opportunity to learn rappelling basics, including belaying and proper use of gear.
Meet at the Black Mountain Trailhead at 9:00 AM Central Time. Rappelling gear (harness, helmet, and gloves) will be provided by the park, or you may choose to bring your own. If you need gear, please let a ranger know before we leave the trailhead.
Participants should also bring water, snacks, appropriate clothing for the weather (no clothing with strings), and closed-toe shoes. Lunch is optional, as the program will end around that time. Long hair should be tied back in a low bun or braid.
Restroom facilities are not available at this location. Participants ages 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or adult. This program is weather-dependent and may be canceled if necessary.
