Description: Quail Forever: Learn to treat invasive species with herbicide!

Location: Burgess Falls State Park

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 9 am, join park staff and Quail Forever in a hands-on learning event where you will learn to treat common invasive species with herbicide. All PPE, such as gloves and safety glasses, will be provided. The herbicide will be provided with a limited number of backpack sprayers for volunteers to use.

This event is great for anyone wanting to learn more about treating invasive species and how to do it with backpack sprayers. We will show you common invasive species located in TN and help you identify them. We will be working on an ongoing native grassland project. We will discuss how prescribed burns assist in native grassland restoration and wildlife habitats.

The area will be open with tall grasses and very little shade. Please come prepared with a hat, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and plenty of water and snacks.
