Description: Perseids Meteor Shower Viewing
Location: Scott's Gulf Wilderness State Park
Join Ranger Codi for an unforgettable evening under the stars as we witness the peak of the Perseids Meteor Shower, one of the year's most spectacular celestial events!
With darkness upon us, we'll explore the wonders of the night sky while watching for bright meteors streaking overhead. A telescope will be available for viewing, but you're welcome to bring your own binoculars or telescope to enhance your experience.
Please note that registration for this event is required.
Be sure to bring a camping chair or blanket, water, snacks, and bug spray so you can relax and enjoy the show. Please note that camping will not be permitted following the program.
We will meet in the field directly across from the Virgin Falls Trailhead. The best address for this location is 2080 Scott's Gulf Road, Sparta, Tennessee 38583.
Weather Notice: This program is weather dependent. If inclement weather or excessive cloud cover prevents safe or enjoyable viewing of the night sky, the program will be cancelled.
