Fiery Gizzard State Park

Description: Overnight on the Gizzard: Ravens Point Hike Edition

Location: Fiery Gizzard State Park

Meet Ranger Hannah at the Fiery Gizzard North Trailhead where we will begin the exciting 9-mile adventure to Ravens Point and back to the Grundy Forest Campground!

The hike will begin at 8:00AM at the Fiery Gizzard North Trailhead. We will then hike the 0.6miles to the campground, set up camp, and then hit the trail for a great day of hiking! We will wrap up day back at the campground to relax by the campfire.

This hike will go through the Fiery Gizzard gorge which is 4miles of strenuous terrain due to the rocky trail and steep elevation gains. Participants will need to dress accordingly for the weather.

Camping meals will be provided for dinner and breakfast the following morning. Participants are more than welcome to bring their own food should they prefer.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own gear. We can provide equipment if needed (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, & backpack). These items are for those who need them and will be on a first come first serve basis. 

Once all the registration spots are full there will be a brief online meeting to discuss details and any concerns.

Participants need to review the attached EEC (Essential Eligibility Criteria) prior to signing up for this program.

Participants should bring:

-Sturdy hiking boots

-Overnight backpack

-Sleeping pad

-Sleeping bag

-Extra socks

-Extra clothing

-Rain coat

-Water

-Camp stove

-Toiletries

- Snacks

Participants will receive 24hr notice if the trip should be cancelled due to inclement weather.

This trip is limited to ages 15 and up and all minors must

be accompanied by an adult. This event is limited to the first 10 people

who register. Registration for this event will end April 4th. If you

register for this event but must cancel for whatever reason, then you must do

so, before April 8th by 4:00 p.m. in order to receive a refund. If the

Ranger decides to cancel for dangerous weather conditions then she will do so

by noon on April 10th, and refunds will be issued to participants.
