This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Climb with a Ranger! Experience introductory rock climbing in a beautiful setting. This program is recommended for individuals over 18 with little or no rock-climbing experience. The Outdoor Experiences – Rock Climbing program provides an opportunity for participants from a mostly urban area to get involved in outdoor climbing. Finding experienced partners willing to take new climbers outdoors can be difficult. We provide this program to help get new climbers outdoors.
On the program date, participants will meet at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park visitor’s center for a one-hour informational session. This portion of the program discusses safety protocols, technical gear, packing lists, and knot practice. On November 1, 2025, participants will meet at a sister park approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Nashville to perform outdoor climbing from 9 AM CST to ~3 PM CST. Participants are not required to own or bring any technical gear; there will be a selection of harnesses, shoes, and helmets if needed. Participants are welcome to bring their own gear.
In the event of cancellation due to weather, we aim to reschedule for the following weekend. If you are unable to participate in a rescheduled event, you can request a refund.
