Description: Otters Rock!
Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park
What is that "otter" there?
The North American River Otter!
This long, medium-sized mammal calls Tennessee home and is known as a very important species here. We refer to these kinds of animals as "keystone species". Without them, our ecosystems would not be able to survive...or us!
Otters are very sociable animals, are very playful and collect sentimental items such as rocks. They are skillful and graceful hunters that provide balance in our river systems.
For this program, we will meet in the museum. We will learn all about otters, what a keystone species is, and have a fun activity where we will paint our own stones to take home!
All materials will be provided at the park and this program will last about an hour. We also recommend this program for ages 8-12 but anyone is welcome to join!
For more information please see the Essential Eligibility Criteria Attached below.
In the event of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled.
