Thursday, June 11 | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Join us for a morning dedicated to the fascinating Northern Bobwhite. We’ll begin with a short indoor presentation covering bobwhite biology, behavior, and life history before heading out on the trails to explore the habitats these birds depend on for survival.
During the hike, participants will learn to identify native plants important to bobwhites and see examples of quality early successional habitat management in action. We’ll discuss conservation challenges facing bobwhites and the land management techniques used to support healthy populations and other wildlife that benefit from the same habitat.
With a little luck, we may even hear the distinctive “bob-white” call or spot some of our resident quail along the way.
This program includes walking on uneven trails and spending time outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable hiking shoes.
