Come hike the park at night, past normal business hours! This hike is themed on nature at night, how a "different" world wakes up at night, and how so much happens around us when the moon is out we often do not see. Nocturnal animals are active, and so much is happening around us at night - this hike is to see just a few of those things!
This hike will take us through the Mayo Wix, High Ridge, Owl Ridge and Tennessee History Trails. Please dress for the weather and nighttime lighting - at least one flashlight per person is required (most flashlights will be used for illuminating the ground for safety and identification). If you have a UV/blacklight that is portable and easy to carry on a hike - bring it! We may see bioluminescence that can be highlighted with UV!
This program consists of hiking through paved and unpaved, uneven, and uphill trail path in low lighting conditions. Bring water and snacks, dress for the weather, and be conscious this program is during closed business hours - campers and nature should be respected with noise levels being low.
