This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Join Ranger Jack in this basic overview of fishing, where you will go over the basic parts of a fishing rod, how to bait and cast, and important basics of fishing so you can develop an understanding that you can build on in the future. In addition, you will be doing some fishing yourself - poles and tackle will be provided - all you need to do is bring your choices of bait! For the type of fishing in this program, it is recommended to bring live worms - The panfish/sunfish love them, and it is a classic bait choice.
The Visitor Center sells worms as well as gas stations and grocery stores nearby to the lake.
You are encouraged to bring your own poles and tackle.
The fee for this program helps ensure all provided poles and tackle are maintained and available for those who wish to use them.
For the purposes of this program, a valid TN fishing license is required for any participant over 12.
