This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Don’t “get lost out there!” Come learn the basics of navigation by becoming familiar with how to read a map, use a compass, and how to orient yourself outdoors.
This program is designed for adults or children looking to build their confidence in outdoor navigation.
During this event, we will learn the essential skills for safely exploring and enjoying the outdoors. In the age of GPS and smartphones, knowing how to read a map and use a compass ensures you can find your way even when technology fails. Whether you're hiking, camping, or just spending time outdoors, learning the basics of navigation is a lifelong skill that can keep you safe and prepared.
We will be practicing our navigation skills outside on park grounds, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. All supplies needed for the activity will be provided by the park. To prepare for this program please read the attached Essential Eligibility Criteria.
In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled.
