Description: Mountaineer Folk Art Project: Bee Keeping 101
Location: Fall Creek Falls State Park
Come join us at Fall Creek Falls State Park and learn the ins and outs of beekeeping and apiary care with local Beekeeper Keith Ray. Meet at the Nature Center at 9:00 am central standard time, and follow Keith over to bee hives located at the North Entrance of Fall Creek Falls State Park. There you will spend your time observing and taking part in basic beekeeping activities and hive upkeep. For ensured safety, please wear light-colored long-sleeved shirts and loose fitting pants. All other supplies and safety wear will be provided for this class.
This $25.00 program has a limit of eight people, and all participants must be age 18 or older.
Lunch will be provided after the class.
This class is part of Fall Creek Fall's Mountaineer Folk Art Project, a program dedicated to protecting and preserving the historic and traditional arts, crafts, and skills of folk life along the Cumberland Plateau. All Mountaineer Folk Art Events are co-sponsored by Fall Creek Falls State Park, The Tennessee Arts Commission, and our Non-Profit Organization The Friends of Fall Creek Falls.
