Description: Mountaineer Folk Art Project: Bee Keeping, Harvest Time!
Location: Fall Creek Falls State Park
Join us at Fall Creek Falls State Park to learn the ins and outs of beekeeping and apiary care with local Beekeeper Keith Ray. Meet at the Nature Center at 9:00 am central standard time, and follow Keith over to bee hives of Fall Creek Falls State Park. There you will spend the morning observing and taking part in basic beekeeping activities and hive upkeep. This class will focus on honey harvest. All supplies and safety wear will be provided for this class. After we visit our hives, we will caravan over to the Shelter 4 and begin to process our honey.
This $25.00 program has a limit of nine people, and all participants must be age 18 or older.
Lunch will be provided after the class.
This class is part of Fall Creek Fall's Mountaineer Folk Art Project, a program dedicated to protecting and preserving the historic and traditional arts, crafts, and skills of folk life along the Cumberland Plateau. All Mountaineer Folk Art Events are co-sponsored by Fall Creek Falls State Park, The Tennessee Arts Commission, and our Non-Profit Organization The Friends of Fall Creek Falls.
