Autumn is a fantastic time to find tons of native plants! The Star Walk is maintained as a remanent prairie, meaning there are perennial field plants abounding! Because these plants are native to North America, there are lots of traditional medicinal recipes they can be found in, from the Cherokee to Victorian doctors.
Take a short hike with Ranger Dani and learn about some of these medicinal plants!
Please park at the Star Walk Trail parking lot, located on the left as you enter the park (it is across from the Interpretative Center and Aviary--also, look for the giant field!.
If you need any accommodations such as an all terrain wheelchair, please reach out to the program coordinator to get it scheduled!
