One of the oldest TN State Natural Areas, this wetland prairie remnant in the city of Manchester host over 2-dozen rare plant species. Join stewardship ecologist Murray Gheesling as we travel about 2 miles around the Natural Area discussing current and past management and challenges associated with helping this rare remnant thrive. From forestry mulching to exotic invasive treatments to prescribed fire, it’s all happening here. Meet at the parking area on Asbury road. There are no established trails. The terrain is relatively flat but uneven with some tall vegetation, so boots, pants, water, and bug spray are recommended. There is no restroom at this trailhead
