Description: Laurel Snow Bryan's Overlook Hike
Location: Cumberland Trail State Park
On Tuesday, May 26 at 9AM Eastern we will meet at the Laurel Snow State Natural Area parking lot. Parking spaces can be limited so carpooling is encouraged.
We will first hike 2.5 miles to Laurel Falls. Participants have the option of turning around at this point and hiking solo back to the parking lot for a total trip of 5 miles.
Ranger Lydia will then continue up a steep climb (including some rock scrambling) up to the ridge above Laurel Falls, where we will continue an additional ~1 mile from the falls to Bryan's Overlook. This trail can be rugged and is not recommended for those unsteady on their feet or afraid of heights. There is also a creek crossing that will require us to get our feet wet.
There is a program fee of $5/participant, pre-registration is required. Contact Ranger Lydia at lydia.martinez@tn.gov with any questions.
Please remember to bring sturdy hiking shoes, along with adequate water and snacks for the hike. Trekking poles are encouraged.
