Description: Kites Over Cordell
Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park
Join the Friends of Cordell Hull for a fun and meaningful day of kite flying and local history. Families will begin by checking in at the welcome area before heading out to enjoy an open kite flying window lasting three hours—plenty of time to relax, play, and take to the skies.
This program is recommended for anyone who is interested in kite flying and history behind it.
In addition to the flying activities, guests can explore a small historical display highlighting the tradition of kite flying and its cultural connections during the era of Cordell Hull. A special kite model showcase will also be featured, offering a closer look at different designs and styles.
Kites will be available by donation, with all proceeds supporting the Friends of Cordell Hull. Whether you bring your own kite or pick one up on-site, this event offers a perfect blend of outdoor fun, education, and community support.
To make the most of this experience, we recommended dressing comfortably for outdoor activities, wearing sturdy walking shoes, and brining water.
In the event of inclement weather this program will be cancelled.
