This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Put on your water shoes and get ready to explore the wonders of the French Broad River! In this hands-on program, kids will learn about aquatic life and water quality by using dip nets to search for fish, insects, snails, and more in the shallow shoals of the river.
Ranger Casey will guide young explorers as they investigate what lives beneath the surface and how those creatures help us understand the health of the river. This is a great opportunity to learn about aquatic ecosystems while splashing around and having fun!
Please wear sturdy water shoes (no flip flops) and clothes that can get wet and muddy. Don’t forget sunscreen, a towel, and drinking water.
Meet at the Bluebird Barn and we’ll walk about 1 mile together to the river access. Recommended for kids ages 6–12, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
The cost of the program is $5 per kid.
