This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
American Kestrel Nest Box Building Program
Join Seven Islands State Birding Park and the Farmland Raptor Project for a hands-on conservation program focused on helping one of Tennessee’s declining native raptors—the American Kestrel. Participants will learn about kestrel biology, habitat needs, and the importance of providing safe nesting sites for these small but powerful falcons.
During the program, participants will build an American Kestrel nest box using provided materials and guidance. Those with suitable kestrel habitat on their own property may take a completed box home to install, while others can build a box to donate to the Farmland Raptor Project to be placed in areas where kestrels need additional nesting opportunities.
This free program includes all materials and instruction. Space may be limited, and participants should be prepared to spend time assembling a nest box using basic tools.
