This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
On Juneteenth, Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Jacob will lead a 1-mile hike honoring the history of African Americans in Johnsonville. From the work in constructing the Nashville Northwestern Military Railroad, to their work in Johnsonville's town era history, honoring and remembering the presence of African Americans in Johnsonville is crucial to preserving, protecting, and sharing the stories of Johnsonville.
The hike will begin at the Lakefront, continue down to the African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, and conclude after a walk on the Railroad Peninsula. Please bring water and wear sturdy, closed toed shoes. Park staff will provide bug spray and sunscreen.
