Description: Homemade Ice Cream
Location: Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park
Join us for a hands-on demonstration where we will be making homemade ice cream.
This program is intended for all ages!
We will learn how families, like the Hulls, would have prepared their food and cooked their meals. Join us behind the park office for a demonstration of the process of hand-churned ice cream and discuss some of the flavors that were popular in the 19th Century while you try a taste!
You will learn the methods and ingredients used for making homemade ice cream for the time period. After it is prepared, you will be able to enjoy a tasty treat around the campfire.
Please keep in mind that the ice cream will be made from dairy products! All of the ingredients and supplies will be provided, all you need to do is bring your seating (blanket, folding chair, etc.) and your appetite!
