This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Calling all homeschool families and groups! Learn about the wildflowers of Red Clay through a short hike and nature journaling activities! Ranger Taylor will discuss the ecological and Cherokee cultural significance of wildflower species found at Red Clay and lead students in nature journaling activities to hone scientific observation skills.
Participants will meet on the Visitor Center porch to get started. The program will begin at 10 AM, so we ask that participants arrive around 9:45 AM to check in.
Small journals will be provided for each participating student to use and keep as a part of the nature journaling program. Pens, pencils, markers, and crayons will be available to use. This program is appropriate for students in 4th grade and up. The cost of attendance is $2 per participating student. Overflow parking will be available at the picnic pavilion.
