This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
East Tennessee is home to several species of hawks, vultures, owls, eagles, and falcons. These majestic and powerful birds play and important role in our ecosystem as they hunt and scavenge for their food. They are fun to search for along the trails in the park and exciting to see up close.
This program is part of our monthly Homeschool Birding Club for ages 8-12. New participants are welcome and will receive a birding journal to keep track of their visits to the park and the birds they observe.
We will meet at the Bluebird Barn at 11:00 am and hike approximately 2 miles to learn to identify and search for birds of prey. Please wear good walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle.
Optional: Join us at 10:00 AM for a 1 hour Live Birds of Prey Program presented by Owl Ridge Raptor Center. Use the link for more information about this additional program.
