This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Before becoming a state park, Burgess Falls had a grist and sawmill operating on the Falling Water River in the early 1900s. The grist mill made flour by utilizing the power of the river and large stones to mill grain. Step into the past and enjoy making homemade butter and flour from grains!
The park will provide all materials to make homemade butter and pancakes. We will use hand grinders to mill our own flour and then shake our way to making our own butter. This is a great event for families or for anyone curious about learning traditional ways of cooking.
