This moderately easy 1.5-mile hike takes you through a scenic natural landscape rich in history, flora, and wildlife, culminating at one of the most significant Native American mound centers in the Southeastern United States. During the hike, we will share insights into the lives of the Mississippian people, their impressive engineering, and the cultural significance of mound-building societies. This experience offers a rare chance to explore a protected archaeological site not open to the public without special access.
