Description: Indigenous Peoples' Day Mound Bottom Hike (Evening)

Location: Harpeth River State Park

In celebration of Indigenous Peoples' Day on October 13th, we will be offering Mound Bottom Hikes the weekend leading up the day! On Indigenous Peoples' day we are offering a special free hike to Mound Bottom.

This moderately easy 2-mile hike takes you through a scenic natural landscape rich in history, flora, and wildlife, culminating at one of the most significant Native American mound centers in the southeastern United States. During the hike, we will share insights into the lives of the Mississippian people, their impressive engineering, and the cultural significance of mound-building societies. This experience offers a rare chance to explore a protected archaeological site not open to the public without special access.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply curious about Tennessee’s ancient past, this guided hike promises a unique and educational adventure through time.

Canceled in the event of bad weather.
